Discover the personal side of Abraham Lincoln in this first-person interpretation covering the great man's formative years, his courtship and marriage, and the beginnings and development of his abolitionist viewpoint. Discussion points also include the causes of the Civil War, major events and turning points within the war, the Emancipation Proclamation, and the Gettysburg Address. Performed by Bob Gleason with the American Historical Theatre. This program is funded by the Horizons Speakers Bureau of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities. This program is free and open to everyone. Advance online or phone registration is required.
