This program is for children in Grades K-5. Please sign up, and then pick up your kit any time after the 1st of the month at the children’s desk. You must be registered in order to get a kit.

Meet the Poets: Authors Faleeha Hassan and Kay Peters

Join Faleeha and Kay for a discussion of their poetry. If you would like to, you can share a poem you wrote, or one that moves you. Kay Peters is a retired Oncology Clinical Registered Nurse Specialist who now volunteers as a Parish Nurse. Her Poems have appeared in Philadelphia Poets, US 1 Worksheets, Schuylkill Valley Journal, Philadelphia Stories and Mad Poets Review. Faleeha Hassan is a poet, playwright, writer, teacher, and editor who earned her master's degree in Arabic literature and has published 25 books, including War and Me: A Memoir. A nominee for both the Pulitzer and Pushcart Prizes, she is the first woman to write poetry for children in Iraq. Her poems have been translated into 20 languages. She has received numerous awards throughout he Middle East. This program is open to all adults.
